A week filled with graphic novels. I started the week with:
Roots by Tara O'Connor the story of an Irish American artist who thanks to some crowd funding sets out to find out more about her ancestry. The book ends up very different to what she set out to create and becomes more about a woman grieving from her divorce and finding love in the arms of a friend instead 3/5
Next up was Breaklands, Season One: The Chase by Justin Jordan described as Mad Max meets Akira, which is fairly accurate 3/5
Deadly Class, Volume 1: Reagan Youth Homeless Teenager Marcus is taken in to a school for assassin's chaos ensues 3/5.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is the story of London below and follows the story of Door as she escapes from assassin's and tries to figure out who is responsible for killing her family 4/5
Snow Angels Volume 1 Milliken and Mae Mae have never left the trench nothing but death lies beyond it. The Trench is brutal but it provides everything they need 4/5
The Fact Of The Matter by Madeleine L'Engle this short story was one of the highlights of my reading week. There is something to be said for a story that can be started and finished over a cup of tea. Like a snack for your brain. An elderly lady confides in her grocer and things get weird 5/5
The Two Towers by JRR Tolkien was my Tolkien Reading Day (March 25th) book of choice. I didn't get a whole lot of reading done on the day itself due to an argument that went on over text for hours leaving me stressed and out of sorts. I was unable to concentrate until bedtime so this book was read over a few days. This is my favourite Tolkien book next to The Hobbit which is high praise indeed 5/5
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell classic story from a horse's perspective. A bit annoying at first but as it went on I got attached and at times it was very upsetting do it's a 4/5
An Heir For Pemberley by Jane Grix is exactly what it says on the cover, a story about Elizabeth birthing a heir. Very well researched and an interesting imagining. This is another short story so can be enjoyed with a cup of tea 4/5
Revival, Volume 1: You're Amoung Friends One day in Wisconsin the dead come back to life it's up to local cop Dana Cypress to deal with Reviver crime. This was probably my favourite graphic of the week. The concept was amazing and the way it was executed was surprising 5/5
